MAGAZINE
Theatre , Drama Magazine, the different styles, lots of different outfits
Create a front cover and a double page spread article for a hobby magazine aimed at an audience primarily of 14-18 year olds.
Show all the different costumes,1.What kind of articles will be shown on the front page?
"Express Yourself, Explore The physical theatre side of drama"
"Stage productions, What its like to preform on stage"( Different quotes from people)
Experiment with Fancy Lighting, set the mood with exotic colours"
2.What is on the front cover?
On The front cover- I would like to have a girl in a long elegant dress that has long sleeves and is quite thin but silky, im going to include many other people but all in black holding her up from underneath and the room is black the stage but im going to have a coloured spotlight on the girl and the girls body will be bent backwards just lying there comfortably.
3. How is the colour scheme chosen?
On the front i'm going to use many blues because blue could be considered a calming colour and be serenity which is exactly what i'm hoping for i don't want a really bold image on the front so its an unexpected turn of page with all the bold colours on the double page spread.
4.Where is the masthead and what kind of font is used?
Im going to have the masthead going down the left side of the page and the font i will be using will be the classic serif font.
5.How many images are on the front cover?
The main cover image of the woman being lifted up into the air, so only one.
6.How many cover lines will be used?
Only Three to go along with the multiple articles that will be mentioned on the front cover.
7.What institutional information is included and where is it placed?
I want to have the price and the date the magazine was written up on the magazine cover so the price on the top left and the day it was written the top right, also when people gave individual quotes inside i will use their names inside of the magazine.
8.How many different fonts are used on the front cover and what sizes?
For the articles shown on the front i would like to have that in serif to match the masthead but if there is any added on information i will use sans serif.
9.How are puffs used?
I will include the puff method when i speak about lighting "explore many different lights and the ways to use them"
10.How are the double page spreads laid out/ What fonts will be used?
On the front page of the double page spread on the left side im doing to do it about different scenes of people acting rather different bold colours and actions nothing will be the same and im going to have 3 pictures on the side one in the top left with text next to it the a bit down another photo middle right and the the last one bottom left and have the text surrounding it and then a masthead down the middle saying "express Yourself" in serif.
Then on the right hand side of the double page spread will be of the lighting and the people all their with their quotes.
11. How will the text be organised on the double page spread?
I'm just going to have them straight next to the photo but on the second DPS on the right hand side i'm going to have a circle of words surrounding the photo, key words of what can visually be seen and what is happening in the photo.
Codes And Conventions
Genre shown and the conventions, how are the images used, how are the covers and double page spreads laid out?
The front cover page will be shown very differently almost opposite to whats inside, inside its rather colourful and playful while on the outside its quite calm due to the blues used in the photo, it makes the real meaning of it which i think is quite bold.

PART 2 CODES & CONVETIONS
1. The Masthead looks personalised and quite blocky but bold and i feel represents DRAMA and the colour Orange is rather bold , Orange also implies Joy, Sunshine, freedom, self expression etc, self expression is a main thing used in drama so this leaves a big affect just in the masthead, The layout is just lined up at the top so apart from the main image its probably the thing you will look at first because u will be drawn to it, formal house style.
2. The production values look very high in the fact it is extremely factual and there are over 45 pages, its thick , the quality of the magazine itself looks good and looks like it has taken time to make, the pages are rather thick and feel nice, like something from a textbook, all the images have been professionally taken, and they name the photographers names under each image, giving credit.
3.The status for drama and theatre and learning with one another and adapting , it shows the values of teamwork and resilience,Its about many voices being formed into one, the goals are just having fun and working hard.
4. The genre is just theatre and very bold and out there, the choice of font style throughout, orange is a main colour used throughout being a very expressive colour. as the captions are rather bold and then where the information is held sans is used to create a fancy playful topic, because thats what drama is.
5.The people are represented doing very many different things and doing different activities, suggestion that u can do anything in drama its an expressive thing, and each photo with the people in it are showing different facial expressions and actions, drama is never the same thing there is such a large variety of things to do in drama and this magazine shows that "One forum Many Voices".
6.The target audience will be 14-18 ish so teenagers , it'll be playful but also the maturity levels will go up throughout the pages, it can appeal to everyone in that age range.
Excellent research and planning so far!
